One-to-one mediation is appropriate in case of a conflict situation between two individuals. This can be a conflict between colleagues, or between an employee and his/her supervisor.
In a number of sessions discussed beforehand, the mediator and the parties involved work together towards restoring cooperation. Learning to put themselves in each other's shoes and empathising with the other person's point of view is essential.
The mediator is a moderator who gets the conversation going in a safe way, and intervenes when necessary.
